Coleus amboinicus-plectranthus is a succulent plant native to Southeast African, now widely naturalised in the tropics. Also called Queen of Herbs, Five Seasons Herb, Chinese Three in One, Spanish Thyme, Puerto Rico Oregano amongst many more names.

Applied Use

● leaf is used ● tea cut several leaf-steep in boiled water-before bed for insomnia ● crushed leaf deters insect bite-relieve irritation after being bitten ● rub forehead for headache ● as food-cooked in soup stimulates lactation after birth ● 1 tbsp. juice hourly for adults/1 tsp. 2 hourly-4 times daily for children over 2 for respiratory ● fresh juice for earache ● leaf as poultice 4 times daily ● decoction 1hr before meals for sore throat ● in cooking as tasty flavouring-oregano alternative ● I have not found any cautions for this plant
